Ouch!
So, the Olympics are long since over, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy some old school gymnastics. Mainly the most painful thing I think I've ever seen happen in a gymnastics competition. I had to watch this like six times to soak in all of the details because it just happens so fast. See what happens
when gymnastic equipment attacks.
Bear fights man over salmon
Apparently this is a commercial for John West canned salmon, but I don't think it really makes me want to buy canned salmon, nor buy anything by John West. It did, however, make me laugh. Take a look and see why, when it comes to salmon,
no bear is a match for John West.
Japanese Jackass? WTF?
I have no idea what this is supposed to be, but here is a video of what I'm told is
Japanese girls bitchslapping each other. I've never seen anything like it, but I can only assume it's Japan's answer to Jackass. Bizzare. Two girls pair off. One slaps the other. Then the other slaps the first. Two more girls pair off. Repeat. WTF?

Interactive Storytelling
I want
this book. It's called
Interactive Storytelling: Techniques for 21st Century Fiction and it's about why stories, movies, and video games are compelling and how to take those elements and develop a "fiction" for the new generation. Anyway, I think it looks good. Check out
this review. (via

the Bunnies hit the big time
You remember
exorcist bunnies, and I thought I had told you about the other 30 second bunny movies, but I guess I haven't. So get up to speed:
The Shining,
Titanic,
Alien, and
Jaws in 30 seconds and re-enacted by bunnies. Well, anyway, now you know about the bunnies. Sorry I didn't keep you in the loop. But the cool thing about them, is that they are hitting the big time. They will be hosting the Starz! Hare-Raising Halloween Marathon on October 30th. And that's pretty cool for a Web cartoon. So mad props for that. Also, there will be three new bunny cartoons airing during the marathon. These will be
Scream,
Freddy vs. Jason, and
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. So check out the
hare-raising trailer and look for the bunnies on your TV.
Pinkey the cat
We've all seen the public service spots where the local animal shelter spends 30 seconds with one of the cute little animals they are hoping someone will adopt. Well, what you may not have seen is what happens when one of those photo shoots goes bad. I'm not talking about vicious dogs. I'm talking about putting a cat on a harness. Cats do not belong on a harness. See for yourself what happens when
Pinkey says "no". (if that link doesn't work,
try this) (via

The Strangerhood
You may or may not be familiar with
Red vs. Blue, a Web-based show rendered using Halo. I'm not a huge Halo person, but the good news is you don't have to be. The show has nothing to do with Halo. In fact, they have an awesome short,
Real life vs. the internet. But that's not really important. What matters is that they have a new show on the way that should appeal to more people. It's called
The Strangerhood and it's done using the Sims 2. And you don't have to know anything about the Sims to appreciate it. All they have up currently is the intro/trailer. But it looks to be promising. (via

Spying on lives
So
everybody is
talking about how to find digital pictures that people might not want to intentionally share with the world. All you have to do is search for "DSC[insert number here].jpg in a google image search and you'll return thousands of pictures with the default save prefix for sony cameras. For example, try a google search for
"DSC00011.jpg" and you'll return people's eleventh picture. It's fun for snooping. For example, it's how I found
hundreds of cute bunny pictures and a
little kids' dirt bike rally. Anyway, the fun is out there. Try it out. (via

Hear Bush Speak
Dude, just don't talk. Every time I hear Bush speak it's a travesty. He never gets things right. Anyway, the latest example of this come to you in
this here mp3. He was taking questions in Derry, NH on Monday when he said this. You can get the
full transcript at the white house.
Kaboom!
Check out this interesting minute long stop-motion movie called
Kaboom! It's nothing earth-shattering, but I thought the concept was cool, especially the explosions. I can only imagine how long it took to make this. Enjoy.
ShmooCon. 2005
This looks awesome. It's the first convention I actually want to go to and it's called
ShmooCon. 2005. It's the first of an all-new, annual East Coast hacker convention dedicated to showcasing technology exploitation, inventive software and hardware solutions, and critical information security issues. So, aside from being a bunch of hackers, it seems like there should be some good info. Also, there's a Hack-or-Halo competition for cash prizes where you can compete against other con-goers in either network destruction or a first-person shoot-out. So, check it out and I'll let you know how it is, when it rolls around in February.

Eww, have you seen the new $50?
It's like woah. CNN has an image of the
new $50 bill and it looks ridiculous. But maybe that's just me. It seems like every time a new bill comes out it looks less and less like actual money. But then again, I saw an old school twenty, and I'm not talking the first new design, but one of the genuine $20 bills from the '80s and it looked funny. So who knows, anyway just thought I'd enlighten you.

Pac-Man art
Vicious Yellow Bastard. That's how Jim Davies describes Pac-Man in one piece from his pop art series inspired by the ghosts from the Pac-Man game and the culture they might have. It's really quite interesting and the artwork is pretty cool as well. It also made me laugh, because he really gets into the heads of the ghosts and explains each one of his paintings so you don't need an art degree to understand Pac-Man. Anyway,
check it out and don't say I never expand your mind. (via
