Farewell cruel world
It's Friday and it's a long weekend, so I probably won't be updating this blog until I get back to work and run across some cool new stuff. Fare not, there is plenty from
yesterday's post to keep you busy over the weekend. But if that's not enough, you can check out some cool
panoramic photos of Paris' metro stations. There are tons of them. I wish I could take pictures like that... but I'm more of a point and shoot kind of guy, like the folks at
FUH2, who take pictures of their middle fingers pointed in the direction of Hummer H2s... I think I could be very good at that... and they take user submissions. All I have to do is find a hummer and flick it off. Am I a big enough bad ass to do that? Are you? Take the
Bad Ass Test and find out. Do you have the ability to ignore life threatening bodily damage? Have a bodily scar more than 12 inches long? If so, you're well on your way to passing the bad ass test. I scored 155 points (Smooth Character). Damn I'm smooth. FUH2! But I still appreciate a peaceful
Zen garden... and I cry at sad movies. And I'm out.
Panem et circenses
Back in high school Latin class, when we were sick of work, we would break out a chant of "Panem et circenses." It means, "bread and circuses." And when we chanted it, we got a day off from work. So we chanted it often. Well, that technique doesn't work anymore, at least not here in the "Real World." But here at the Bandit's hideout, it's always a good time for panem et circenses. So take a day off and enjoy the
BREAD (media for watching)
- Murray, the Martial Arts MonkeyA monkey in underwear who goes around beating up cows and bad gorilla. It's all set to the music of Jungle Boogie and it's definitely worth a watch. Get down, get down...
- Parallel parkingIf only I could park like this, I'd drive the tourists in DC out of their minds. Maybe I should invest in a set of these tires from Däckia.
- RockfishThis is an awesome animated short film done by Blur studios. I wouldn't be surprised to see them with a feature film in the near future. Plus, you gotta love the spider-dog.
- Walkie Talkie ManThis is a video from Steriogram's album SCHMACK! I'd never heard of them before (apparently they're from New Zealand), but I dig this video. You will too.
- We will rock youThis is a video of We Will Rock You as performed by water droplets. Bizarre, but good, like McGriddles.
- Canadian Napster CommercialIt's really funny. It's very Canadian. "I'm proud to be a Canadian. Pass me another beer!" Need I say more? Watch it.
- Soccer gets people talkingThis is a viral marketing piece for France Telecom. I wish they had commercials like this in the U.S. Goal!
and
CIRCUSES (games for playing)
- Starsky and Hutch PinballIt's pinball, it's Stiller and Wilson, it's fantastic. Great game, extremely addictive. Make sure you turn your sound up though because the voices are one of the best features. Go ahead, clean up Bay City one bad guy at a time.
- BowmanYou're an archer. Kill the other guy before he kills you.
- Matrix fightingYou're a stick Neo. Shoot, kick, punch, and slow down time to defeat your enemy.
- Make a snowflakeYup, that's right. Take out a pair of virtual scissors and a piece of virtual paper and cut out a virtual snowflake. Mine was pretty, have a look. You could waste some serious time with this one, I know.
- Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger BoyWhat? You're too good for Captain Underpants? Fine, be that way, but you're missing a great remake of the classic Galaga for Atari. You might have to block off a couple hours for this one.
- Final Fantasy RPGA great tribute to Final Fantasy. Battle traditional enemies and some more fearsome foes like Mario, AIM, and AOL for Broadband. Enjoy it.
Well, that about clears out my queue of fun and interesting things, but don't worry. Tomorrow I'll have a whole new batch off goodies for you. It's Friday after all.
I'm back like a nasty rash
Yup, it's been 5 days since my last post, and just when you thought I was gone for good, I'm back again. Yeah, so Meghan's dad was in town and I took Monday and Tuesday off from work to spend with her (and them). So there was no blogging and no working. Things could have been worse. Anyway, I just wanted everyone to know that I'm okay, but now I'm out like the fab five. It's Meghan's birthday tonight and I gots to get ready to take her out for dinner. My normal slovenly approach just won't work tonight. So while I bid you adieu for the evening, let me leave you with this:
Happy Birthday Meghan!
