OC Update
I enjoy The OC, it entertains me. So, after learning of OC star Adam Brody's band, I decided to do a little research on the subject. While I was unable to discover much more on the band, I did find the ultimate OC fan. His name is Buzz Rodell and he has a blog called The Pool House. He may be a little obsessed, but if you want to know anything about the show, he'll have the scoop first... like on April 20, when he announced that Fox officially signed The OC on for another season. Some people are just born cool.

Breaking News
Okay, not often do I make this many postings to my blog in any one day, but I recently stumbled across these tidbits of information:
  1. The OC star Seth Cohen (aka Adam Brody) is in a rock band, well more of "a musical and emotional getaway of a Hollywood Indie band that will soothe and heal the soul." Their name is Stevens Team, and how could they not be bad ass? So check out the pics and if you ever see them in the area, be sure to let me know, my soul could use some soothing.
  2. "A rampant rhinoceros gave a group of visitors a glimpse of nature in the raw at a British safari park when he tried to have sex with their car." I kid you not. This is news at its finest. If you don't believe me, check it out on ABCNews. If you don't read about it now, you'll see it for sure in Express.
  3. Go back in time with your very own 1982 DeLorean: Gullwing. It's currently selling on EBay:
    Running late?
You never will again in this accurate recreation of the DeLorean Time Machine made famous in the Back to the Future movie series. This recreation was painstakingly researched for nearly 5 years before construction. Dozens of original photographs, details, and interviews with the original vehicle builders and collectors were compiled to make sure no detail was left un-accounted for. All of the interior and exterior Time Machine components were made to last, but at the same time not damage the integrity of the original vehicle. From custom fabricated aluminum work, to vac-formed plastic, and cast resin - this vehicle faithfully and accurately recreates the look and feel of the original movie car. Stainless steel body panels, grey leather interior, 5-speed manual transmission, V-6 engine with Bosch Fuel injection. Motion picture parts replicated through archival photos and extensive research; working interior and exterior lighting system including the "Flux Capacitor", "Time Circuits" and exterior "Flux Dispersion Banding... more
And at the time of this posting there were 34 bids and a high bid of $22,300.00.... and there are still 8 and a half days left.
So, it's back to the grind for me, but enjoy these tidbits. For all breaking news, turn to the Bandit.

By the way
I updated my blog last night with some nifty new tools (courtesey of HaloScan). At the bottom of every post I now have a link to leave your comments... so go ahead... Share your thoughts... click on "Thoughts?" I also added a Trackback link which I'm not really sure how it works, but I'm learning. I'll let you know when I figure it out, but click the "Trackback" link to an example. Lastly, I made some changes to my stylesheet, changed my link colors and such... made my blockqoute boxes grey, all that jazz. I hope you like the new changes and features (and by "you" I mean the one person who reads this blog... thanks Meghan).

The War
Today I heard a very odd expression. Someone was telling me about moving to DC and she said, "I moved down about a year ago, right before the war." I don't know why that struck me as odd, but to me, "The war" usually means WWI or WWII, once in a while it means Vietnam or occassionally Korea... But it never means Iraq. The recent wars are qualified as the Gulf War or the War in Iraq, or Kosovo, never just "The war." I've been pondering that for the last hour or so, and it boggles me. Anyway, with that said, let me introduce the Gorilla News Network's (GNN) recap of the war... it's 11 minutes of news clips, music, and quotations. Enjoy!

Work Sucks
So, work's been driving me bonkers! That's my excuse for having a lame post on Monday and nothing on Tuesday. I mean the nerve of a full-time job taking up so much of my time that I don't even have time to update my blog. So, I'm fed up with work, and have no time to play. But apparently there are still people out there with too much time on their hands. I direct your attention to exhibit A. Jay Maynard took the time to make his own Tron costume, which was no small feat, and is documented in painstaking detail. I do not have this kind of time. Nor, have I had time to visit one of my Web staples: Homestar Runner. If you haven't seen Homestar, you gotta check it out, but don't take my word for it (Wired news had a pretty cool interview with the Brothers Chap, the guys who started the site... not that I've had the time to read the whole thing yet). So, what am I wasting this brief moment of free time on my blog for? I could be catching up on all the stuff I've been missing out on... or working. Tough choice, I'm out!

A Monday Quickie
Okay, it's almost 6:30 and I'm taking off, but not before I leave you with two little Mario nuggets of gold:
  1. The theme as played by some kid. Trust me, it's awesome. I'd have him play at my wedding. If you thought you knew the Super Mario Bros. theme song by heart, wait until you see this kid wail it out on the piano... And I'm not just talking the easy stuff. This kid's got the tubes, the fireworks, the warps, the whole thing. Sure, maybe he's a little awkward with the ladies, but with skills like this, who cares?
  2. 11 minutes is all it took this kid (or perhaps full grown man, who can say?) to beat Super Mario Bros. 3. I'm not kidding, it's one of the most athletic events Mario has ever performed. So pop some popcorn, and get ready to enjoy the speediest Mario thrill ride of your life.
And with that, I bid you good day!
