Too good to wait
It's Friday, and as usual, my bag of tricks is bursting at the seems. Turns out I found out who was behind that trippy adventure game
I posted about. Some guy named Jakub Dvorský from the Czech Republic has a small design studio called
Amanita Design. He has a bunch of cool animations, graphics, and yes, more rad adventure games. One he just finished in late May was for the
Polyphonic Spree. It's called
Quest for the Rest and you take three members of the Spree in search of the rest of the band. It's extremely entertaining. If you liked
Samorost you'll definitely like this. Also, he designed a game for
nikelab.com called
Rocketman, where you build a pair of shoes for Vince Carter and blast off into space. I can't seem to find it anywhere on Nike's site, but it's another fantastic adventure game, it appears to end prematurely, so maybe Nike decided against it and Jakub never finished it. Who knows? But check them all out and have a great time. You can thank me later.
Too busy to blog
The long weekend was good, but now I'm super busy. So I ain't got time to blog. Please accept these links as an apology.
- Rumsfeld Fighting TechniqueSo good, complete with pictures. "You may have defeated my Southern Hook Palm technique, but can you defeat the 1000 styles of Rumsfeld?"
- Paul Smith's Typewriter ArtBizarre, but good. Paul has severe cerebral palsy, but he makes amazing art using nothing but an old typewriter. It's quite impressive.
- Hummerdinger.comThe Sierra Club's take on the worst automobile every made.
- How to make friends by telephoneA virtual edition of a book that looks straight out of the '20s. A must read
So, they aren't the best, but I'll make it up to you, I promise. And I'm spent.
